5starWe were greeted by Francesca, the owner. She is lovely and certainly knowledgeable about the restaurant business. We were served by Howie. Great food, huge portions and chef willing to customize orders. The garlic rolls were a bit oily but tasty. There are lots of menu items we'd like to try so we'll definitely be back. This review should actually be 4-1/2 stars!

5starBest Italian food I've had in Florida. Owner/chef and wife are experienced and obviously care about food and their customers. Wait staff is exceptional -- efficient, pleasant , helpful. Garlic rolls come as soon as you're seated, and are hot and done just right. Soups are some of the best I've had anywhere; have taken several home as add-ons. Salads are generous, fresh, and perfectly spiced/dressed. Many vegetarian dishes -- all I've tried have been first rate. Fish and seafood seems just-caught - every seafood entree is superb. And the pasta! It arrives with every main course and is perfectly done. The accompanying sauces are well chosen and wonderful, both red and white. Entrees have their own delicious sauces, which I'm working my way through. Don't hesitate to ask for something done differently -- chances are Francesca's will accommodate you. Dessert menu is small but intense; the cannoli is up there with the best. Don't forget their espresso for a true taste of Italy. Portions are more than adequate -- immense, actually. Forget the surroundings being in a plaza; sit back, relax, listen to classic Italian arias, and enjoy Italian food as it was meant to be.

5starI like trying new mom and pop type restaurants so we ate at Francesca's last night. Francesca gave us a warm welcome and was very friendly as she seated us. She told us about her and her husband's 30 year background in the Italian restaurant business and explained that he cooks everything fresh. Our waiter Evan was super nice too and very attentive. Our salads were fresh, crisp and delicious. I think the garlic rolls might have been reheated as they were a bit hard and dry. Our shrimp dishes were excellent and huge- we each could eat only half before we were full. The homemade chocolate cake that comes with dinner was good. Other than the garlic rolls, the only thing that could have been better was the decor which is old and needs a serious update. It looked like they put a fresh coat of paint on an old restaurant and opened for business. They've been open 2 months now and I can see them and would like to see them stick around permanently - if they update that old drab decor. Then they'll have all the pieces to make it work. I wish them luck. They seem like nice people who deserve a successful restaurant.

5starWe happened by this little, family owned Italian jewel after an event at the Morikami Gardens. This was one of the BEST Italian restaurants we've ever eaten at. The portions were very generous, freshly made and delicious. But the best part of the meal was the garlic rolls...Fantastic! We will be coming back.
